Earning Course Badges - University of West Georgia Students

In addition to the five regular badges that are available, students enrolled in MEDT 7472: Introduction to Distance Education at the University of West Georgia have the option to complete this badge.

  • From Topics 1-4 of the MOOC, choose one topic for deeper exploration. For the chosen topic, find two additional scholarly resources (peer-reviewed articles, book chapters, etc.) and five other resources (videos, readings, podcasts, etc.) that provide additional information relevant to the topic. Write a blog post in which you provide summaries of the two scholarly and the five additional resources. Be sure to provide links to the resource or (if the resource is not publicly available) an APA citation for locating the resource.
  • From Topics 5-8 of the MOOC, choose one topic for deeper exploration. For the chosen topic, find two additional scholarly resources (peer-reviewed articles, book chapters, etc.) and five other resources (videos, readings, podcasts, etc.) that provide additional information relevant to the topic. Write a blog post in which you provide summaries of the two scholarly and the five additional resources. Be sure to provide links to the resource or (if the resource is not publicly available) an APA citation for locating the resource.
  • Respond in a substantive way (e.g., to further the discussion) to 10 other MOOC participants’ blog posts (respond using the comment feature on the blog). Write a blog post in which you briefly summarize what you learned (e.g., what you discussed, what issues you became more aware of, what questions arose for you, etc.) from your interactions with the 10 other participants.
  • Write a final blog post linking to your previous posts (those you authored) related to this badge and announcing your intent to have completed the badge. You do not have to link to others' posts you commented on.
